  • Das ist gut!

What’s the one luxury you can’t live without?

There is a simple luxury, that I cannot live without.

Should I be denied it, I’ll stomp my feet and pout.

It enlivens the tastebuds, a true epicurean delight.

I take at mealtime, morning, day and night.

It supports a healthy gut, and builds a diverse microbiome.

I consume it while traveling. I consume while at home.

What is this l delectable luxury that I rave about?

It is none other than Bavarian Sauerkraut.

  • It’s Your Move

There once was a Moose from Lancaster.

    An accomplished Chess Grandmaster.

    Against Kasparov, on one occasion,

    He offered an oblation.

    Checkmate never came faster.

  • All you need is . . .

What are the most important things needed to live a good life?

    Freedom to participate in:

    • Civic life
    • The economy
    • Worship of ones’ god
  • Go Figure

If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?

I think arithmetic is amazing and algebra is swell.

Calculus and statistics, I like them just as well. Trigonometry is my favorite, if I were to tell. The new name that I choose is Polynomial.

  • I gotta plan!

The best defense is a good offense.

Could be true, or just plain non-sense.

A 90 Day Calendar is the best planner.

Tracking events in an efficient manner.

While on this topic, does it make sense,

    To even track those non-events?

  • Ask Jeeves

I submitted a query to Jeeves.

‘How do I prevent holes in my sleeves?’

The reply was eloquent but curt.

    ‘Just wear a short-sleeved shirt!

    Wise-guys are my greatest pet-peeves.

  • First Choice

Most things I don’t prefer one over the other.

Not so when it comes to the topic of peanut butter.

On my PBJ there is no but, or and if.

The spread must be smooth, creamy Jif.

Else it’s like a ship without a rudder.

  • Syntactic ambiguity

    Flies like . . .

    Time flies like an arrow.

    Fruit flies like a banana.

    On Track

    Training for a race.

    Racing for a train.

    What is it?

I never knew how much I had, until I had much less. Now with great certitude I know what it was, I guess.

  • Something Else

Some things are haunting and dismal, they just won’t leave me be.

Some days are dreary and dark,

    No sunshine do I see.

Though these things would plague me, if they had their way.

I overcome their effect by recalling a happier, brighter day.

I have reminders of goodness to drive away whatever brings me down.

As I reminisce of these things a smile grows where once there was a frown.

These memories that I treasure once created have no end.

They were given in your simple words as you said, “You are my friend.”

  • Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

Every serious situation must be treated with the proper level of humor.
