Reflections

Could I Be?

I wish I was, I wish I were, I wish that I could be, a blessing to all of you, who’ve been such a blessing to me.

I prayed for nothing more than love, and yet I’ve received so much more. It was you that appeared in my time of need, as you knocked upon the door.

I opened my heart to let you enter, you came, but were not alone. You crossed the threshold with Jesus, seeing what few have ever known.

What you saw was fear, strife, and a heart ravaged by sorrow. For most, one glance would have been too much, but you came back on the morrow.

Somehow you looked beyond what you saw, you shared Christ’s vision of me. You looked beyond where I was, what I was, you saw what I could be.

Then I heard the words of Christ, not from Him, but coming from you; “Get up my brother, be a slave no more, there’s much work that we must do.”

“The help you desire, the healing that you need, lies within your brothers. You cannot heal yourself, you can only be healed by helping to heal others.”

Now you must reach out beyond yourself and do what Christ says to do. Only then can you be a blessing to those who have been a blessing to you.
